Fish Audio is an AI-powered speech generation platform designed for content creators, developers, podcasters, audiobook producers, game studios, marketers, and businesses. Its core text-to-speech system converts written scripts into natural, expressive audio using ready-made voices, community-created models, custom voice clones, or reference recordings supplied directly during generation. Users can create audio through the browser-based playground or integrate the technology into applications through its API and official Python and JavaScript SDKs.

The platform’s S2 voice-cloning technology can create a usable synthetic voice from approximately ten seconds of clean reference audio. A cloned voice can reproduce characteristics such as vocal tone, cadence, emotion, hesitation, and speaking style. Its cross-lingual capabilities allow a voice cloned in one language to speak supported additional languages without retraining. Voice cloning should only be performed with the speaker’s authorization and in compliance with applicable identity, likeness, disclosure, and synthetic-media laws.

Fish Audio supports both single-speaker narration and multi-speaker dialogue. With the S2-Pro model, developers can assign separate voices to different speaker tags, making the platform useful for podcasts, fictional conversations, audiobooks, games, training scenarios, and audio storytelling. Controls are available for speech speed, volume, expressiveness, diversity, output quality, and audio format.

Real-time streaming supports low-latency voice generation for conversational agents, interactive characters, customer-service applications, games, and other products that need speech before an entire script has been processed. Output is available in formats including MP3, WAV, PCM, and Opus, with several sample-rate and bitrate options. Fish Audio also provides speech-to-text through its API, returning transcripts, timestamps, and segmented results from uploaded audio.

The developer API uses pay-as-you-go pricing without a monthly minimum, while commercial rights for cloned voices are included with eligible paid access. Fish Audio’s S2 model is also promoted as open source and suitable for self-hosted deployment
