Udio
Udio is an AI music creation platform that turns text prompts, lyrics, and audio ideas into complete songs.
Udio is a generative AI music platform designed for creating original songs from simple written descriptions. Users can describe a genre, mood, subject, or musical direction, and the platform generates two song variations for each request. Tracks can be created as short 32-second ideas or as songs lasting approximately two minutes and ten seconds, making Udio useful for both rapid experimentation and more developed compositions.
The platform supports automatically generated lyrics as well as custom lyrics written or pasted by the user. Its extended lyric editor includes regeneration, editing, and version-history tools, giving songwriters more control over the words included in a track.
Paid subscribers receive access to more advanced production tools. They can upload audio they own and use it as the foundation for a new creation, remix, stylistic variation, extension, inpainting operation, or waveform-based editing session. Udio also provides editing tools for replacing sections of a song, changing instruments or moods, modifying vocals, and correcting individual lyrics.
Additional creative features include Styles, Sessions, Voice Control, key guidance, multilingual song generation, playlists, folders, favorites, community discovery, and an official iOS application. The library system makes it possible to organize creations by project, genre, mood, or version and publish playlists for other listeners.
Udio operates through a credit-based system. Free users receive daily and monthly creation allowances, while Standard and Pro subscriptions provide significantly higher monthly limits. However, audio, video, and stem downloading is currently disabled following changes connected to Udio’s Universal Music Group partnership, which considerably limits external production and publishing workflows.
