TurboScribe is a browser-based AI transcription service designed for journalists, researchers, students, podcasters, content creators, legal professionals, and businesses that need to convert recorded speech into text. Users can upload an audio or video file, select its spoken language, choose a transcription mode, enable speaker recognition, and receive a structured transcript through the online dashboard. The service is powered by OpenAI’s Whisper speech-recognition technology and supports transcription in more than 98 languages.

Three processing modes are available. Cheetah prioritizes speed, Dolphin balances speed and accuracy, and Whale is intended to provide the most accurate result. Speaker Recognition identifies different participants and labels their sections, making the service useful for meetings, interviews, podcasts, focus groups, and multi-speaker recordings. An Audio Restoration option can reduce background noise and enhance unclear speech, although TurboScribe recommends it mainly for poor-quality recordings.

TurboScribe can transcribe speech in its original language or convert supported spoken content directly into English. Completed transcripts can also be translated into more than 134 languages. Users can download results as DOCX, PDF, TXT, CSV, SRT, or VTT files, making the platform suitable for written records, captions, subtitles, and further document editing. Paid users can export multiple transcripts simultaneously.

The permanent Free plan provides three transcriptions per day, with each uploaded file limited to 30 minutes and one upload processed at a time. TurboScribe Unlimited removes the overall transcription limit, supports files lasting up to 10 hours or measuring up to 5 GB, allows as many as 50 simultaneous uploads, and includes unlimited storage and priority processing. The Unlimited plan is intended for one individual and account sharing is prohibited.

Uploaded media and transcripts are encrypted at rest using industry-standard encryption. However, TurboScribe currently does not provide an API or automated-access option; files must be uploaded through its web interface.
