Miro is a collaborative visual workspace designed to help teams explore ideas, organize information, plan projects, and turn concepts into structured deliverables. Its flexible canvas combines digital whiteboarding with documents, tables, slides, timelines, diagrams, mind maps, workflows, and project-planning tools, allowing different departments to collaborate in a shared environment. Miro is commonly used by product teams, designers, engineers, marketers, consultants, educators, and distributed organizations.

Teams can run brainstorming sessions with sticky notes, voting, timers, comments, reactions, and facilitation tools. Ideas can then be organized into user journeys, process maps, roadmaps, dependency diagrams, customer journey maps, Kanban boards, or structured project plans. Miro provides more than 5,000 templates and integrations with over 160 applications, including collaboration, cloud-storage, design, and work-management platforms.

Miro AI helps users generate content, summarize discussions, identify common themes, extract action items, rewrite or translate text, and turn prompts into editable diagrams and mind maps. It can create flowcharts, UML diagrams, entity-relationship diagrams, and process maps. A digitization feature can also convert a hand-drawn diagram into editable board objects.

The platform’s Sidekicks provide a unified conversational interface for generating and refining documents, slides, tables, diagrams, and other structured formats. Advanced AI Workflows add visual Flows that can transform existing workspace information into complete deliverables while using connected knowledge as context.

Miro also supports AI-assisted prototyping. Teams can generate single-screen or multi-screen interfaces, refine layouts and styles through prompts, connect screens, and preview an interactive simulation directly on the canvas. These advanced prototyping capabilities require the Miro Prototypes add-on on eligible paid plans.
