Microsoft Power Automate

Microsoft Power Automate is a business process automation platform within Microsoft Power Platform designed for business users IT teams developers operations teams and enterprises that want to automate repetitive work across applications services and desktop environments. It combines low-code workflow design robotic process automation and AI-assisted automation in a single platform.

Users can build cloud flows that run automatically on demand or according to schedules as well as desktop flows that automate Windows applications and legacy systems by reproducing actions such as keyboard input mouse interaction and other user interface operations. Power Automate supports standard premium and custom connectors allowing workflows to interact with Microsoft Teams SharePoint OneDrive Dynamics 365 Power BI Power Apps and many external business applications.

AI capabilities are increasingly integrated into the platform. Copilot lets users describe workflows conversationally and assists with creating modifying and improving automations. Generative actions can determine an appropriate sequence of actions from a user's intent while AI Builder supports scenarios including document processing object detection and text classification. Power Automate also includes process and task mining for discovering bottlenecks comparing processes identifying root causes and finding automation opportunities.

Microsoft offers several licensing models. Power Automate Premium is currently $15 per user per month when paid annually and includes cloud flows attended desktop RPA premium connectors and process mining. Process costs $150 per bot per month for unattended automation while Hosted Process costs $215 per bot per month and includes a Microsoft-hosted virtual machine. A 30-day premium trial is advertised on the current pricing page. Microsoft licensing documentation also describes a Free license for qualifying work or school accounts with standard connectors and basic cloud and local attended desktop automation. The documentation separately references a 90-day self-service trial which differs from the 30-day trial currently marketed on the pricing page.
