Microsoft Copilot Studio
Microsoft Copilot Studio is a low-code enterprise platform for building, deploying, automating, and governing AI agents and agentic workflows connected to organizational data and business systems.
Microsoft Copilot Studio is Microsoft's low-code platform for creating and managing AI agents and workflows for employees, customers, departments, and enterprise-wide business processes. Makers can describe an agent or automation in natural language, connect organizational knowledge and tools, test the resulting experience, and publish it across supported channels. The platform combines conversational agents, autonomous agents, workflows, and agent flows inside one development environment.
Agents can retrieve information from connected knowledge sources, reason over user requests, call tools, interact with other agents, and perform actions in business systems. Generative orchestration allows an agent to dynamically choose appropriate tools, topics, knowledge sources, or other agents, while autonomous capabilities let agents react to triggers and execute tasks without waiting for a user prompt. Workflows support branching, loops, approvals, human-in-the-loop steps, AI actions, and connections to Microsoft 365 services, third-party applications, and custom connectors.
Copilot Studio can publish agents for Microsoft Teams, Microsoft 365 Copilot, websites, mobile applications, and other supported channels. Enterprise management is handled through Power Platform with lifecycle management, versioning, development and production environments, role-based controls, telemetry, analytics, and governance capabilities.
Microsoft offers several consumption models. A standalone Copilot Studio capacity pack currently costs $200 per month for 25,000 Copilot Credits. Organizations can alternatively use pay-as-you-go billing through Azure or prepaid Copilot Credit Commit Units. Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users can build and use internal Microsoft 365 agents without additional Copilot Studio charges for eligible authenticated scenarios. A free Copilot Studio trial is available for building and testing agents, but trial users cannot publish them. Credit consumption varies according to the actions and responses performed by an agent.
