Microsoft Clipchamp
Microsoft Clipchamp is an accessible online video editor for recording, creating, enhancing, and exporting videos with templates, stock media, captions, voiceovers, and AI-assisted editing.
Microsoft Clipchamp is a browser-based and Windows video editor designed for creators, students, educators, marketers, businesses, and everyday users. It combines a drag-and-drop timeline with recording, stock media, templates, audio tools, effects, branding, and AI-assisted features. Clipchamp is also Microsoft’s official video editor for Windows and comes preinstalled on many Windows 11 devices. It can additionally be used through supported desktop browsers such as Microsoft Edge and Google Chrome.
Users can import their own video, image, and audio files or begin with a ready-made template. The editor supports trimming, cropping, rotating, resizing, overlays, filters, transitions, animated text, stickers, green-screen effects, color adjustments, GIF creation, and audio separation. A built-in stock library provides royalty-free videos, music, sound effects, backgrounds, and other design elements.
Clipchamp also includes screen, webcam, screen-and-camera, microphone, and voice recording tools. These are useful for tutorials, product demonstrations, presentations, educational videos, reactions, and internal communication. AI-powered features include automatic video composition, silence removal, background-noise suppression, image background removal, text-to-speech voiceovers, and automatic subtitles.
Its text-to-speech tool offers around 400 voices across approximately 80 languages, with controls for voice, pace, pitch, and emotion. Voiceovers can be generated directly from a script and exported as audio or used within a video project. Automatic subtitles support multilingual content creation and can also help make videos easier to understand without sound.
Clipchamp offers a permanent free version with its core editor and AI tools. Microsoft 365 Personal and Family subscribers receive premium benefits such as 4K UHD exports, premium stock assets, brand kits, and OneDrive backup. Business and education availability depends on the organization’s Microsoft 365 licensing and administrator settings.
