Google Stitch

Google Stitch is an experimental AI product-design platform from Google Labs that helps users move from an early product idea to a polished interface and working prototype. Originally introduced as a prompt-based UI generator, Stitch has evolved into an AI-native design canvas where users can create, explore, refine, and connect interface concepts in a shared visual workspace.

Users can begin by describing an application, website, user experience, business objective, or desired visual direction in natural language. Stitch also accepts voice instructions, images, existing codebases, and design files as context. Its AI design agent works directly on the canvas, generates interface options, reflows layouts, provides design critiques, and applies changes while users continue steering the result.

The infinite canvas supports text, images, code, early ideas, and finished screens in the same environment. Users can explore multiple directions, request alternative menus or color palettes, and refine individual components or entire experiences. Designs can be turned into interactive prototypes by connecting screens, clicking Play, and testing the resulting flow. Stitch can also generate logical next screens from selected interactions, helping teams map complete user journeys more quickly.

For brand consistency, Stitch supports the open-source DESIGN.md format. This allows teams to import and export design rules, document the purpose of colors and components, maintain visual consistency between projects, and help AI agents validate design choices against accessibility requirements.

When a design is ready, users can create a shareable experience through Google AI Studio, export screens to Google Antigravity for development and backend integration, publish projects through Netlify, or connect Stitch to external workflows through its MCP server and SDK. As a Google Labs experiment, some functionality remains experimental and may continue changing as Google develops the platform.
