CrewAI
CrewAI is an open-source multi-agent orchestration framework and enterprise agent management platform for building, deploying, monitoring, and governing collaborative AI agents and automated workflows.
CrewAI is an AI agent development and orchestration platform designed for developers, AI engineers, automation teams, and enterprises building production-ready agentic workflows. Its open-source Python framework lets users create autonomous agents with defined roles, goals, tools, knowledge, memory, reasoning, and structured outputs, then organize those agents into collaborative Crews. CrewAI Flows provide event-driven orchestration, state management, persistence, routing, and human-in-the-loop controls for more predictable multi-step applications.
The open-source framework supports hundreds of tools for web search, website interaction, vector databases, code execution, and other external actions. It also provides first-class Model Context Protocol support, custom MCP servers, Agent-to-Agent communication, sandbox integrations, checkpointing, async execution, and a production-oriented memory system. Agents can be configured in YAML or Python and connected to different LLM providers rather than being tied to a single model vendor.
For teams that prefer visual development, CrewAI's hosted platform includes Studio, an AI copilot, workflow templates, private agent and tool repositories, GitHub integration, tracing, OpenTelemetry, LLM testing, guardrails, human-in-the-loop input, scheduling, usage analytics, and workflow chat interfaces. Workflows can also be exported as MCP servers or UI components.
Enterprise customers receive additional governance and deployment controls including SSO, RBAC, workload identity, PII redaction, enterprise connectors, dedicated support, and deployment through CrewAI Cloud, a dedicated VPC, or customer-managed infrastructure.
CrewAI's open-source framework is available under the MIT License. The hosted Basic plan is free and includes 50 workflow executions per month and two automations. Enterprise pricing is custom, with execution capacity sized according to the deployment.
